My 2020 Resolution

We have less than 48hrs to end this year.  The ending that will bring in  new beginnings and fresh starts. I don’t know about you but 2019 hit me real hard with heavy blows. The year came in like a pack of oranges. There’s the sweet and there’s the sour; but I can’t say that it was a bad year. 

No matter what or who you lost, or what or who you didn’t gain or couldn’t do, there’s always something that should make you ‘but' whenever you remember how unfair the year was to you. 

Something you learnt from someone, liberation from a toxic atmosphere, someone you met, a new mindset or motivation, better defined goal, a working diet plan, a book or film that inspired you, a friend or family that achieved something or that things turned around for, even that failure is a lesson, and maybe the break up is saving you from a relationship that you are not meant to be in. 

Every year always brings us close to something relevant in our life. We just do not always realize it because we have forgotten how to appreciate the little things. How to enjoy the little things that also matter. 

While we wait for the big achievement, can we relish the little things that we have now? 

Let’s start with today. 

We have been given this amazing gift of ‘today’. Big question, how will you spend it? 

Regretting? Crying? Wishing? Angry? Hating yourself? Hating others? Chasing after someone who does not want to be caught by you? Gossiping? Condemning others? 

2019 is almost past, 2020 is in the future. But we have today now! Everyday comes with a gift of new beginning. Today is the everyday that we have. Today is the decision day. THE DAY! 

What have you decided to do today? 

I will tell you what we are not doing, first. 
We are not sitting around and waiting for a new year, we are not sitting around and waiting for things to change. We are making that change now! 

We are :

Starting a healthy eating habit
Communicating our feelings 
Replacing anger and bitterness with love and happiness 
Laughing genuinely 
Creating happy memories 
Seeing people as they are, not as we want them to be 
Spoiling ourselves with love 
Making sweet love with the people that deserve us
Replacing ‘why is this happening to me?’ with ‘what is this trying to teach me?’ 
Doing things that challenge us
Taking chances 
Making mistakes 
Learning 
Getting up and starting again 
Forgiving ourselves 
Forgiving others 
Letting go of the things and the people that take away our happiness
Appreciating the people that love us 
Having the habit of being grateful for what we have 
Working on our negative behaviors 
Flushing out negative thoughts 
Ending the habit of gossiping, judging others, people pleasing 
Overcoming our insecurities, self-doubt, self-betrayal; and unrealistic expectations that has been forced on us by us, social media, and or the society. 
Holding ourselves accountable for what we do and say. 
Making someone smile 

No, we can’t achieve everything today. But we can start something. We can make something happen today. 

Today is your destiny. How do you live it? 

 Will you wait to be happy when… when you can be happy now? 

Will you wait to do it when…  when you can just do it now?

Will you wait to tell them when… when you can tell them now? 

What will you do with your lemon? 
1. Make lemonade to drink? 
2. Make lemonade to sell and make money? 
3. Make lemonade, find someone with vodka and have some party?
4. Squirt the lemon in someone’s eyes? 

If you didn’t even get a lemon, you can look for oranges to pick; or lime.
